It is preferable for me to have time to review your intake documents a few days before we meet.
If you become my client, you are invited to call me in the event that you need my support urgently at any time. I will ask that you give me a few hours to get back to you. If you are in crisis and feel that you are in danger, please call 911.

I can often make space for those in crisis who looking for relief and counseling within a day or two.

I use a secure, web-based payment system developed specifically for therapists. You can enter your payment information through my HIPAA-compliant program before our appointment. Once you schedule with me, I will send you a link that will guide you through the process. If you have ANY problems with the system, please call me anytime at 303 709 5588. This system can be used for credit, debit, FSA, and HSA cards. I also accept cash and personal checks.
I ask that we ALWAYS take care of payment BEFORE we start our sessions together. This is very important as we will be focused exclusively on our counseling and clinical work for the remainder of our time together and I am disciplined about how we end our sessions- which can be disrupted by stopping to handle your payment. This policy is designed to serve you, the quality of your experience working with me and your progress as my psychotherapy, counseling or coaching client.

It is my policy that all my clients pay for their sessions before we meet. Upon scheduling your sessions with me, I will send you an invoice to pay online. Only once your invoice is paid will your appointment will be confirmed with me. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. By giving me at least 24 hours notice by phone call, text or email, you will not be charged, if you have already paid your invoice and must cancel with 24 hours notice, I will refund you in full. Of course, life is unpredictable and if last minute cancellations happen, we will work it out.

The first session is a bit different than the rest. I will begin to learn about your past experiences and childhood, your current circumstances and what, specifically, you would like to work on in therapy.
If for any reason you or I decide we aren’t quite the right match for your needs, I will refer you to a therapist or provider who may be a better fit.
During the first session we will likely create a clear plan for the work ahead of us and begin to build a strong therapeutic relationship. You may leave your first session with an idea of how we will approach your concerns and actions you can take NOW for relief.

This is impossible to guess. I’ve had clients achieve their goals in 2-3 sessions, and I’ve had some clients stay on for years. This is your process and you will choose how long we work together and how far we go. On average, most clients see me every week or every other week for 6-12 months. Some of my regular clients simply schedule with me when needed or every few months to address new issues. This is completely up to you.

Yes. Online mental health care can be a viable option for those who have mobility challenges, have limited access to transportation or simply have a tight schedule. I consider this on a case-by-case basis, and will require at least 1 in-person session to begin, unless travel is not possible for you. Please let me know if this format is your preference. These sessions are also strictly confidential and conducted through my secure portal. Please note the fee is the same for these sessions, and not an ideal option for couples sessions.
